M.2 Nvme ssd not working?

Anson lin

I recently bought a new m.2 ssd for my pc. I had a previous one sata ssd with 128gbs, and i decided to upgrade into a crucial m.2 ssd. When I decided to change it, the computer wouldn't boot up and doesn't recognize windows 10 anymore? Any thoughts on this? My mother board is B450 rog strix f gaming? Processor is a AMD ryzen 7 3700x. Please let me know?

Do you have Windows installed on the new drive, if not it won't boot into anything. If you want to boot to your old Windows 10 installation you can change the boot order in the BIOS.

Under UEFI, it will only boot the driver with the windows boot manager on it unless you explicitly go and select a drive.

However if you're switching from a SATA to a NVMe M2 drive, then you will want to use the RAID mode on the MB to enable access to the drive, otherwise it will be in ACHI emulation.
