Is the Asus ROG Zephyrus M15 a good laptop for both gaming and being a workstation?

So I'm looking for a new laptop for college since my old one is somewhat weak performance wise. I've been keeping an eye out on the new Asus ROG Zephyrus M15 line of laptops that are currently available on Best Buy. Since I'm new to buying laptops, it would be great to get some advice on whether this laptop is good for both gaming and for computer science and whether or not the price is worth it. Here is a link to the laptop: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/asus-rog-zephyrus-m15-15-6-gaming-laptop-intel-core-i7-16gb-memory-nvidia-geforce-rtx-2070-max-q-1tb-ssd-prism-gray/6403815.p?skuId=6403815

Specs: 1TB SSD, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 Max-Q, i7-10750H, 16gb DDR4 3200 mhz RAM, 1920x1080 15.6 inch screen.
Price: $1,579.99

Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Prefer less than 5 pounds and min battery life I'm not sure. Whatever is usable for college I guess. I won't be gaming on battery, only when it's plugged in.

For college use I would suggest something with decent battery life

Are you buying in US? Max budget?

It states a battery life of 5 hours. I am buying in the US, and my max budget is around the price of this laptop at around $1600.
