In the bios it says that there are 2x8gb sticks of ram installed but windows onky reads 8gb?

I have the 2 sticks installed dual channel as the motherboard manual instructs. In the bios, it says i have 2 8gb sticks of ram installed but that i only have 8gb installed.

Make sure the sticks are seated properly. Does Task Manager report some of the RAM as hardware reserved?

Try the sticks individually otherwise, maybe one is defective.

Use something other than task manager

Like hwinfo64

Use only the undetected ram in every slot and check if it boots in any of them.
