ARe fps dips like this in CSGO normal?

StunnaFan

I have a 2080 super and AMD Ryzen 3700x and I play at all max settings. On places like Mirage Bombsite A my FPS dips to 100s when theres alot of activity like smoke and players. Is this normal for what I have?

I don't play much CS:GO, but every time I've seen it run in reviews it gets like 200+ fps on decent hardware. Linus likes to say it would run on a potato. Dropping that far doesn't seem right, but if there's an absolutely ton going on, maybe? I don't think your hardware is the problem either way, but you may have software or background stuff running that's affecting it. I'd look at things that are especially CPU hungry, either running high or just spiking high, and maybe kill those and see if it makes a difference.

I normally get 200-300 for fps but I get those weird dips
