What would be the best graphics card for 1440p 144hz on AAA games

For ultra settings 1440p a 2080S or 2080 Ti, but I would recommend waiting for next gen Nvidia cards to launch. I use a 1080 Ti (pretty well the 2070S equivalent) and get anywhere from 80-120FPS at 1440p ultra settings depending on the title. (Paired with an R7 3800x and 32GB of 3466MHZ memory)

if you are okay with medium to high settings look at the 2070S, RX 5700XT or a used 1080Ti, but again I would wait for next gen GPU's, likely to be released in a few months. Worth the wait IMO.

give us a budget and what country you are buying in, we will make a parts list for you. Share whatever parts you currently own, as well as what games you want to play.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

 

How many watts do I need? ATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explained, group reg is bad

I'm guessing $1,500 does not include the budget for peripherals? And I'm also guessing that gaming is your primary use case for this PC?
