Is this cable compatible

Recommended Posts

Yes, it is. The difference in pinout between Corsair type 3 (which is on your PSU) and type 4 is the four extra pins for Vsense wires on the 24 pin connector.

I think the hoomans put their builds here?

Why do you hoomans give your builds a name? Here's my build, which I shall call "Do as I Say, Not As I Do" (seriously, don't get this build)

I have a CS850M psu but i don't have a sata cable to connect it to my new ssd.

I was wondering if anyone had success using other cables like  https://www.amazon.ca/Corsair-CP-8920186-Premium-Individually-Sleeved/dp/B01N7HEVM7?th=1 or anything else

Yes.  It's compatible.

Doesn't look like it:

Corsair PSU Compatibility:

  • RMi series, RMx series, SF Series, Corsair Type 4 PSU

You can't use Cablemod as a reference when they're only supporting fully modular PSUs that include the 24-pin.

The CS-M has a fixed 24-pin and EPS12V cable.

That's not from CableMod, it's from the product page of that listing (unless the listing is by CableMod, not sure on that).

But yeah, seems like it's compatible

If you don't want to spend a boat load on that individually sleeved SATA cable, search for part number CP-8920116 instead.
