Will 3000MHz RAM work without XMP activated?

Hello. I bought 2 sticks of 8GB 3000MHz memory and I plan on buying a Ryzen 7 2700x and an Asus ROG STRIX B450-F Gaming motherboard. Will the RAM work in 3000MHz without the XMP profile turned on?

no, default will be 2400mhz i believe.

But why don't you want to turn on XMP?

Most likely no, and also don't buy a 2700X and a B450-F. Get a 3600 and B450 Tomahawk Max or Mortar Max or B550.

You can manually set timings and 3000MHz but my advice is just let XMP/DOCP do it so you will not break Windows... :P

Lol I only saw the post now. I want to buy a 2700X because I edit videos and the 8 cores from the R7 2700X would be better that the 6 cores from the R5 3600, as with my current CPU (i7 4790), Vegas Pro is lagging very bad. And I also won't buy an MSI Motherboard because my current one is an MSI and it makes my PC freeze randomly and sometimes it won't even boot up; I know another person that has the same issue so no thanks MSI. I will buy Asus ROG as I heard they make the best motherboards now.
Maybe I'll get the R5 3600 if it will be cheaper than the R7 2700X by Black Friday, because I'm on a tight budget as I'm only 15 and can't afford it right now

How do you know that it's the motherboards problem? Judge the product not the brand as every brand has their fair share of shitty products.

If you buy by brand, quite frankly you are stupid.

“Judge a product by its own merits, not by the company that created it” is a quote I live by.

As for the B450-F, it’s overpriced and underpowered, along with the addition of the ROG and RGB taxes.

I swapped every single part, apart from the mobo and the CPU and a dude that works with PCs and owns the biggest Company in town told me that Asus makes the best mobos and that his customers pretty much didn't have problems with them. He said that the customers mostly had problems with ASRock and Gigabyte. Anyway I won't buy MSI only because of my bad experience with them, as my old GPU was MSI too and it made everything turn green, yellow and orange randomly and I had to switch to the integrated graphics and then back to the GPU so the color would go away

I have a MSI H81m-e34 (it's a DDR3 one, socket 1150 and that's why I wanna upgrade to something newer, as this PC is from 2014)

Budget like 150 USD at most

I mean the Asus ROG B450-F would be my budget limit, as in my country it costs like 175 USD and I know that anything from the US will be more expensive here so that's why I'm saying that 150$ in the US at most (the B450-F is like 130 on Amazon rn so idk)

Oh Zen 3 will arrive by that? I didn't know lol

But I think it will be a lot more expensive than the R7 2700X right?

Like I want a chip that has at least 6 cores, so a Ryzen 5 at least
