is OLED worth the price over QLED?

I can get a QLED for 55" for 550 and a C9 model 55" LG for like 1500. They are some some differences between them like LG has 2.1 HDMI, and 120hz while the QLED model is only 60hz and HDMI 2.0. I mainly wanted it just for video like Netflix and what not. My question is that is the OLED worth 2.5x the price of a QLED?

OLED has great blacks because each pixel is individual, so no extra light bleeds out when it is supposed to be showing black. QLED has better colors. I believe it is because it has some filter of sorts that splits each pixel into 4.

I wouldn't spend 2.5x more for oled over qled. The blacks arent perfect, but they are good enough.

I am far from an expert in this so please correct me if I’m wrong.

I have an LG OLED(B9) and I would not even consider a QLED now.

 

My TV is mostly used as a monitor for gaming so being G-sync compatible is important along with the other things you mentioned. 

I am also a 4k gamer so 60hz now and 120hz 4k later on is another plus. It is also great a 1440p 120hz now.

When I watch services like Netflix the image quality is fantastic so I have a great TV and monitor at the same time.

 

The TV cost about the same as a high end 4k monitor but a lot bigger. It makes sense to me.

Is there any downside to buying an older model? Has things changed a lot from 2016 to 2020. I am looking at a hardly used one from a listing and its 650 but I believe its a B6 model.

As long as you don’t have any burn in. If you have the budget, you cannot beat the perfect blacks of a OLED. The Qled is still the old led backlight technology and you get bleeding and blooming and the contrast ratio issues that come with a screen which can’t produce proper blacks.

If there's anything I learned: I promise myself never ever getting any IPS model. Literally every single IPS I bought, it has every IPS issue.

So only go for OLED for TV and VA for monitor.

 

And someone asked if there are difference between older and newer models. Well, I have the LG A7 which is an older model but I freaking love it. Although I calibrated it so it has great colors than before.

IPS issues? I own 2 and have no problems

I never experienced backlight bleed or LED's being too bright. I don't know... what else is there? All of these seem like a myth to me

Which model of QLED TV are you referring to?

 

OLED's benefit is perfect blacks and infinite contrast. With any LCD TV you're going to get either backlight bleed or, if the TV has full-array local dimming, you will get haloing artifacts around bright objects. You don't get any of these issues on OLED, as each pixel is self-lit. LGs OLED TVs are mainly known for amazing gaming capabilities compared to their competitors.

If you're only using the TV for Netflix, get the cheaper TV. Problem solved.

Except the Asus PQ22UC doesn't have perfect blacks. More like 100.000 instead of the advertised 1.000.000..

Maybe Eizo Foris Nova has perfect blacks and it has been reviewed by Hardware.info. But due to the absurd price, not worth to keep it.

 

So far only OLED tv's has true perfect blacks.

I know its sketchy as the seller is brand new and has only 1 feedback to their name but damn is it cheap. They claim it's new but has no box to it which is also kind of fishy. They also provide no actual pics of the item. The pics there seem like are all default ones. It will also have no warranty to it either but like 500 off retail with the shipping added to the price. I mean if it is a dud I can always charge  back right? So would you take the chance and get it?

Advertises as Brand New and then seller saying it comes with no original box...

 

Ask the seller for photos and preferable with his eBay's name on paper to confirm it's not a scammer. There is a possibility the seller's page could have been compromised. $840 for a 55" OLED? That's damn good! I bought my 55" OLED for €949 two years ago from a legit store.

I have no idea tbh and after a while, it became €1499.

New model or not, I'm the guy that likes to experiment and calibrate and image is just really stunning.

Image is stunning. I decided to get one  of these. I got a spare system that I can set up as a media system. Its old but very capable

It was inevitable. An OLED tv under 1k will be sold out asap. But who knows the account has been compromised. No one knows untill the lucky human got the legit OLED tv delivered or the unlucky got a picture of the tv delivered lol.
