650W PSU recommedations?

Hi all, I'm looking to get a 650W PSU but I have no clue what units are good and what is bad. Please help! I have a few things I want the power supply to include, I would like it to be either fully or semi modular, be at least 80+ bronze, have all black cables, and have the unit itself to be as black and white colored as possible. I have a budget of around $100 USD. Any help is greatly appreciated

NORMALLY...if it wasn't because of low / no stock due to the Human Malware...you can get a really decent PSU for ~$100 USD.

Now? At this time? Not so much...

If you can't find any of these in stock 

Go with something like a tx550m or an rm550x ( if you can afford it ) .

We talikng about the same unit Corsair TXM gold 650w 80+ because i put exactly 20 units into pcs at work abd none have failed nor do i expect em to corsair make good units!

bad protections

single rail

bad voltage rails

noisy and bad fans

group regulated unit

As the not so proud owner of an N1 (for now) I can confirm this. The fan is just as loud as any case fan in my system and the cables are rigid and hard to work with. Not to mention the rat's nest of spare cables at the bottom of my case. After seeing how dangerous it really is I'm glad I ordered a new one before installing a new GPU. Hopefully the corsair Txm 650 gold will be much better

That's a solid mid-range PSU, he shouldn't buy a PSU that's intended for high end systems.  It must suck to be so jaded.

Compared to those no name fake wattage rating PSU's out there a low end Thermaltake, Corsair, EVGA etc. is mid-range.

All you need is a cheap voltage regulator for clean power, so PSU doesn't have to work so hard, or rely so much on its own protections.

I've been a BSD developer since the 80's, and I have forgotten more about computers than you will likely ever know.

The TXM is a solid PSU choice for your build. Sure, there might be better PSUs but with the current stock issues, the TXM is something not to be ashamed to get.

N1 is in the lowest tier there are(E) it is not a mid range psu. Tier b or b+ is.

The OP *IS* running a high-end system, compared to a typical office system.

His 5700 XT graphics card alone can pull 210W+.

The Corsair TXM 550W or 650W will be absolutely fine.

That or, the three Cooler Master / BeQuiet PSUs I mentioned are also great.

FYI:  This attitude isn't restricted to PCs.  When I was an auto mechanic, a much older fellow was working on a Taurus SHO.  Our parts catalog didn't have the SHO in it at the time, so he ordered regular Taurus parts.  I told him that the SHO had a Yamaha built drive train and used completely different parts.  He told me I didn't know what I was talking about and to STFU.

I have a very similar build and I went with the Seasonic Focus GM-650.  Make sure to get the newer GM series.
