(SOLVED) Thermal Paste in CPU slot

I have recently been slowly upgrading my PC and it was the CPU’s turn which has turned out quite difficult.

After two dead CPU’s you can imagine it got frustrating, but third time lucky another issue as I was about to install my third CPU in as many days I noticed some thermal paste has creeped into one of the pin holes.

Long story short is there any way of removing it and how hard would it be? 
 The motherboard in question is a Asus Prime X370 Pro

Blow some compressed air on it. it will come out.

Would a non-conductive contact cleaner also do the trick?

Try using toothpicks and cotton. In reality, this usually destroys sockets.

Yea. You could use a electrical socket cleaner too. But isopropyl or rubbing alcohol should work fine. Just get the bulk off and flush. Should be fine.

Almost any non conduct solvent will work. You should see some of the stuff tech yes city uses on his pc parts to clean them.
