Do you already have the ax1200i?  It has the same fan as my hx1050, and TBH it's god awful loud.  Shop around before if you haven't already purchased it, something like a seasonic, evga 1000 p2 or something.

I'm looking to replace it sometime this week, the noise level of that fan is unbearable.  And good choice with the GT's, I have 8 of the 1450rpm model, LOVE them to death. So much quieter than my previous nf-f12s.

I've owned it for about a year now, The fan probably wont even be spinning most of the time. Will probably be running the AP-15s @ 5V if there's not any strange motor noise.

CoolerMaster are about to release, if not, have released their new 1200w platinum, fan doesn't start til 300w, made by Seasonic.

After watching TTL's review of the rm1000, I've been leaning towards that quite a bit.  Before that I was debating the 1000 p2 from evga, due to it's fan control switch enabling the fan only at 45 C internal PSU temp, plus the 10 year warranty looked nice.

Can't seem to find it in stock for a reasonable price though, so I'm probably getting the rm1000 instead.

A little mad about neweggs pricing lately when things are out of stock on other websites.   I had an rm1000 in my cart like 2 weeks ago, it was 199.99, and a ton of other sites had them in stock for the same price, now they're sold out on those sites, and newegg raised their price to 249.99.

When my new fan controller shows up I'm gonna do a bit of testing with em, I recently read a review about them + a few other fans and was quite amazed and happy that I went with my ap-14's.  @ suggested I give them a try, and I've been nothing but impressed with their noise levels compared to my previous nf-f12s.

It shows in the review of the ap-15's that they start at around ~3v, so I'm eager to try it with my new fancontroller to see what temps are. (I'm a bit of a scientist with my PC, I enjoy fiddling very much)

I'm also a bit disappointed in nf-f12s, (I was already, but this furthered my disappointment.) They move the around same amount of air as the ap-15's, yet the ap-15's are quieter by a LARGE amount throughout the entire testing.

There's nothing wrong with it, it's a great PSU my only complaint is it has the same fan as my hx1050, and it's LOUD as hell. Just bought an evga 1000 p2 to replace my hx1050, was gonna get an RM 1000 but couldn't find it in stock that'd take paypal :/

Maybe the fan doesn't bug others as much as it does me, but personally when I spent all this money on a custom loop for my PC, I wanted silence.  And my hx1050 is far from it.

I don't know why I even look at the Build Logs section anymore. Every build makes me sad whnever I look at my fired PC and I'm stuck with my Macbook Air.

Great build by the way. I love the ASUS Rampage Black Edition.

rawr!! I'm a ferret!
