But with 4K, you won't be able to basically see any pixels on a 27 inch and lower.

At the moment I'm not really that excited, it is too expensive at the moment and I see no point in replacing my current standard HD monitor with 4K yet. Eventually when the price comes down and 4K video content is more available then I'll get excited.

4k is overrated, IMO. 4k tv's are pretty nice, but not monitors. I'll invest when I can get a 55" for less than my house. It's stupid hard to run in this gen, and probably isnt that much more noticeable over 1440p.

I'm not hugely excited for 4K, but why wouldn't you want a sharper and clearer image?

I'll buy a 4K monitor when we have GPUs that can easily drive that resolution and monitors themselves become affordable..

i7 not perfectly stable at 4.4.. #firstworldproblems

i think most people are uninterested because they cant afford it

but if you COULD afford it then you would be all over it instead of shitty 2.5k

obviously for monitors there is less of a point than for tvs

i use my 55in tv as a monitor, and the pixels are huge :\

probably going to buy a 4k tv in the next 2 years, since they're really cheap now, only about $3500

My sound system costs more than my PC.        Check out my S340 build log "White Heaven"        The "LIGHTCANON" flashlight build log        Project AntiRoll (prototype)        Custom speaker project

We could "continue to live with" dysentery. But who wants to do that?

The day that I never have to see a pixel again will be a great day indeed. (inb4 Minecraft)

But then again, those new GPU's will struggle with 8k or heaven forbid 32 or 64k

if you want to play at a lower resolution than what the game was built around go ahead, nothing is stopping you. This may seem like a surprise to you but all of those games that support 4K still support 1440 x 900 and lower. Play at the resolution you want.

I would like it. But considering I just bought a 1080p tv and a 1080p monitor and it's fine for me I don't really care. I would like to get a 1440p or 1600p monitor at some point. But the added hit on the graphics isn't worth it to me, my 780 already struggles with some games. I'll get it when the cost is down. ;)

Don't get me wrong, and I don't want to be rude... but thats the kind of thought that prevents any type of evolution.

but compering this to evaluation is pointless its just pixels its not going to give us a 3rd arm
