What's a monitor you can recommend? (UltraWide, 120Hz+, HDR10+)

TarvenGames

Hello everyone,

I'm looking for a new monitor and wanted to know, if you could recommend one or if LTT made a video about one, that I missed.

The monitor should be:
- UltraWide (21:9)

- Well build, if possible not too "gamery" looking
- At least 3440x1440
- 120Hz or more
- HDR (good HDR, so I guess HDR10+ certified?)
- G Sync
- IPS Panel and color calibrated (out of the box)
- If possible under $1,000, but if it's more then please post anyway 🙂

Thank you very much!

Check the LG 34GN850-B:

It’s Freesync but it’s G-Sync compatible

Also it is HDR capable, but not the greatest experience

Also not out of the box calibrated

For an accurate review check rtings.com

I made a post last week asking the same thing but never got an answer. I've personally been l've been looking at the MSI OPTIX MPG341CQR and the LG 34GK950F-B. They look good to me but I'm not sure if they have HDR support.

I'm not aware of any 3440x1440 IPS monitors with HRD10+.

There is no ultrawide with proper HDR implementation under 2000 $. If you want a big screen with HDR, TVs are the best choice. HDR in monitors just is not quite there yet.

If someone did not use reason to reach their conclusion in the first place, you cannot use reason to convince them otherwise.

"Good HDR", like one with proper WCG and local dimming cost at least a grand for 27inh monitor alone. Although if you're ok with just WCG, ang QLED or nano IPS panel can offer that at a much more reasonable price.

All thing consider though, the best in class option is probably Samsung C49RG9, not sure what it cost at your place as regional pricing vary extremely (but probably way over most people budget)

A much more reasonable choice would be LG 34GN850 which should also fit well within your pricing range regardless of the location. As always, rting is your friend for this sort of thing, just check their list of top ultrawide gaming monitor if you're interested in any other options.

Thanks to everyone for your anwers! I'll be looking into some of the suggestions.

So far I'm most interested in the LG 34GN850-B and the Samsung C49RG9. Both cost around 1000€ here in Germany.
