Looking for a new case

2 minutes ago, IC4 said:

So with rgb fans here’s how the connections work, you have the 4 pin pwm connector that plugs in to your motherboard (the splitter will let you connect multiple fans for one port to the motherboard at the cost of not being able to control them separately but instead as one unit) and then another cable for the rgb. The rgb is completely separate from the fan power. fans I’ve used before could daisy chain the rgb cables and then plug in the end of the cable to your motherboard. Completely negating the reason for a rgb controller because you can do EVERYTHING with your motherboard. Like @TheDailyProcrastinator said you need to find out if the rgb fans take a 12v rgb header or a 5v. Most likely the 12v but don’t count me on that. If it is a 5v rgb connection then you will need to use the included rgb controller and have less controls over your rainbows. But regardless it should work for you no matter what setup you have. Read the instructions and just google stuff you don’t understand but I hope I explained it good enough in here for you

To add to this. If you go and download the manual for this case it should answer the question to what header you need for rgb. @Damian026

Normally I would think 12V as well, but the fans are ARGB not RGB so if it needs an ARGB header it would not work unless the controller allows it to be used without a RGB/ARGB header, not familiar enough with this setup to say for sure, I only know the Corsair RGB products.

Yea actually now that I look at it you might be right. Problably worth checking but I thought you could connect the argb to a rgb header just not have the control of a addressable rgb fan but it’ll be treated like a normal rgb fan. I’m unsure though definitely worth reading the Manual

If I remember, I will do some research when I get home from work. Check back later and maybe I’ll be able to give you the answer

Might be late, but the Coolermaster MB511 RGB is usually pretty inexpensive, comes with all 4 fans and will perform similar to the TD500 Mesh

Argb means it addressable rgb. Meaning you can put multiple colors in one fan and not just one tone through the whole fan (you can make swirly colors all at once) also dude I couldn’t find much on this case and I don’t know why. I ordered one for my girlfriend and it’s supposedly arriving Monday so If you haven’t made your decision yet then I will open it up and take some pics / explain what’s inside better

There is a recently released ARGB version, but most you'll find online (and the one I linked) are RGB

Hey man, it’s a 5v rgb, haven’t made the build yet but the controller is meh, it has one button that changes the colors but it looks like if you hook up your reset switch to it (according to a picture in the manual) to switch from the pre existing colors on the built in controller (at the sacrifice of not having a reset switch, but who uses that anyways lol?) the power supply mesh cover is really shit if I’m being honest, the rest of the case seems to be pretty good build quality, here’s some pictures of the connector and controller so you can see lol hope this helps! I’ll send you a build picture of the lights if you’d like when I build in it next weekend and let you know on the experience !

Oh yeah sure i'd like to see that. But im still a bit confused because how will you hook up 3 fans to 1 port on the controller. Are you supposed to use fan splitters for that? And would perhaps also be possible to hook the seperate fourth fan up to the controller?

They have a built in 3-1 fan splitter. The rear fan requires its own port, but you could just buy a fan splitter for all four to go into one port.

So to be clear I need an 1 ARGB fan splitter to a 4 ARGB fan splitter? Because the port is ARGB

So would this one work for that?: https://www.amazon.nl/Cooler-Master-1-naar-3-splitterkabel-connector/dp/B07Z816DQ7/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_1?__mk_nl_NL=ÅMÅŽÕÑ&dchild=1&keywords=argb%2Bfan%2Bsplitter&qid=1592837928&sr=8-1-fkmr0&th=1
