Windows 10 not installing

Try removing the GPU entirely and running the install again. I'm assuming you can get into the BIOS with no issues? And that it's actually booting off the flashdrive? Out of interest, what size is your flashdrive?

16gb flashdrive. also i dont believe it is my gpu as it will let me install 32 bit but not the 64 bit. I will try though and yes i can get the the bios fine

I'm trying to establish whether or not its a driver conflict thats causing the issue... My last resort would be to try and update the BIOS... I'm out of ideas...

my bios is up to date  i updated it yesterday and what do you mean by driver conflict @Deano727

If windows is trying to use your GPU with out of date drivers it could cause display issues. With the GPU out of the system we can eliminate any conflict related to it as a variable if the problem persists. Did you update the BIOS before trying to install W10 or after first experiencing the problem?

Are you sure your flash drive fully works? Try a different one and/or check your drive with h2testw.

i updated it after the issue, i took the gpu out and im running a test now @Deano727

I get no signal when I plug the usb into the mobo .... only the gpu

what do you mean by media? i downloaded windows to my usb via the windows tool on my current rig listed in my bio (it should be @3.6ghz not 3.2)

Hmmm you said you already installed 32 Bit. Have you formatted the drive you’re installing it on so any drivers windows grabbed aren’t mucking about with anything?

ive not done anything. I built the pc, ran into a yellow screen with white vertical lines so I updated my bios and it didn’t leave until I installed both bits. Apart from that I’ve done nothing

That's not good. You should not have two installs. Basically that error is likely the 64-bit os trying to load the 32-bit binary or vice versa.

 

You'll probably have to format the drive again at this point to get out of it. Only install the 64-bit OS AFTER formatting the drive. You may have to just boot it once, format the drive, delete the partitions and then boot the 64-bit install.

No it's not. You have to select each partition, click delete, then install to unallocated space.

Ensure the HDD you're installing to is first in the boot order.

I would do two things to make sure it goes fine:

1) Unplug the second drive. I've seen windows install random crap on other drives. It's not consistent but it's still there in Win 10 so better to be safe.

2) Delete the partition on Disk 0 and try again

There’s only 1 I think, there’s no drive 0 partion 2,3,4 only 1

I’ve got the usb with the windows downloaded to it as my boot #1
