This boot drive can only run on UEFI mode. It can not boot in bios/legacy mode

Hello friends today I have completed my build and boot the system. I also installed my old hard drive in it with windows 7 installed in MBR format. I have also installed a new hard drive with GPT format. So created a bootable usb drive with GPT format. But this error ocures says I need to convert it in MBR format. I tried to upluge my old hard drive but the pen drive won't boot. And windows 7 is just crashing so I can't change it to MBR format right away. I can get it done from my friend's computer but it will take a while. Can you guys please tell me why is that happening and spare me some time??

what does the boot menu show? 

 

You want to select the uefi option, not the plain usb drive.

 

Turn the bios to uefi only if not already.

that doesn't seem like the boot menu, that seems like the bios/uefi settings. Look in your manual for the boot menu key.

In boot menu there is boot priority #1, #2 and #3 I have boot option usb flash and uefi flash and the hard drives

there is normally a separate boot menu, thats not in the main uefi settings. Try pressing f12 or esc at startup

yup, chose uefi generic flash disk, the bottom one.

 

Id also unplug any drives you don't want windows installed on

Now the drive is not selecting. I tried formatting the the drive but still not selecting

So delte all the old partition, then make one big one.

 

And unplug all the drive but the one you want windows on.

I have lots of data in this can't loose them all. Would MBR fix the problem?

Are you installing windows on a drive with data already?

 

In that case, make backups, then delete the data, then install.
