XMP - Ram with different Frequencies

Hello,

I have just upgraded some components in my pc and thought it’s high time I enabled XMP for my ram. I currently have 16gb of DDR4 2400mhz and 16gb of DDR4 3200mhz and I’m wondering what will happen if I Enable XMP. Will I run into issues and cause damage to my components or is the motherboard ( ROG Maxiumus XI Hero ) clever enough to know to set the speed of each ram automatically

thankyou

It wont but the xmp will most likely follow the ram with the lower speed.

Im with the mentaility of "IF IM NOT SURE IF ITS ENOUGH COOLING, GO OVERKILL"

The XMP profile will follow the lowest link in the system. You could try manually overclocking as that might squeeze a bit more performance out of your components if your willing to put in the effort. Won't damage the components at all. RAM usually has a lifetime warranty and that isn't without a reasons, those things are almost bulletproof tbh.

You would think Ubisoft would support the Bulldozer based architectures more given their digging themed names like bulldozer, Piledriver, Steamroller and Excavator.

Thankyou everyone.

after a mild heart attack when it wouldn’t boot. Cleared the cmos and now running at 2400mhz across the board. Not a huge improvement but until I get more higher spec ram it’s the best I can do.

thanks for everyone’s input :)

Well do you really need 32gb ram ?

Take out the low mhz ram  and go full mhz on the fast ram ....

You have the memory mixed up.

A1 and B1 are one channel and should have the matching sticks there.

A2 and B2 are the second channel and the matching sticks go there also.

The reason why it posts 2400mhz is because the 2400mhz memory is Jedec of 2400 instead of 2133mhz. So the 2400 sticks likely do not have an XMP profile to speak of.
