• Absolutely 100% free, no in-your-face micro-transactions or ads or whatevers.
  • Sure, you can purchase in-game MOS currency if you want, but it's never necessary, and there are other ways to obtain MOS points without spending any money.
  • And by "other ways," I don't mean those disgusting, "watch a five-minute ad and we'll give you some tokens". Just play the game as you would normally, and you'll get rewarded. It's pretty great like that. 
• No excessively bloody or gory stuff, unless you count sprite images and are incredibly sensitive.
• Combat is part of the game, but is not central to the game. There are many skills/things you can do to pass time in the game.
• Community is great, generally well-behaved. Mods are active, friendly, and do an excellent job at moderating.
• New members are always welcomed, and the community does its best to help each other out.

Define non violent ... is Mario level violence / cartoony stuff allowed?

 

Portal is fairly non violent - there's turrets which try to shoot you but other than that, it's mostly puzzles

Soma - athmospheric thriller/sci-fi , can be a bit scary, not much violence in the sense that you don't kill enemies but can be scary in some places

Everybody's gone to the rapture ... no violence but kind of a very good (pretty graphics) walking simulator

 

Syberia 1 and 2... point and click adventure ... there's a 3 but it's not as good

Tomb Raider series is ok ... there is some violence ... Lara shooting wolves and bears that attack here, in the latest games there's human enemies and darker stories but the old games have very few human enemies.

it's sort of like a sandbox, in the sense you aren't forced to do anything

 

the devs are very anti-pay2win, everything in the game is accessible without paying, woot woot

 

and yes, the mods are awesome
