My friend's first PC build

Budget (including currency): $1000-1500 CAD

Country: Canada

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: League of Legends, Maplestory

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

Hi guys!

My friend wants to get into PC gaming and would like to build his own tower. He need a monitor (1080p high refresh rate preferably) and peripherals, but not headphones. I was thinking of waiting for B550 to come out, but could you help me with the rest? Probably a 1660 Super or Ti for the GPU. Thanks!

Radeon RX 580 should do the trick. Cheaper too.

Challenge (totally not related): Edit that to make it as detailed as @Eschew's build post:

@wall03 just mentioned it if OP wants to have it for some reason.

Hahaha it's a bit overkill but I have 3TB of NVME storage on my own rig. I mostly got them to not have to deal with SATA wiring. Do you guys think my friend should wait for B550?

I streched the budget a bit, but do you think there's anywhere I could cut a bit? The monitor Herman suggested is out of stock and I don't really trust the Cougar PSU.

The monitor is about at the same price new unfortunately. For the 2060, I read that it was a better value, but I guess I could get a 1660 Super. I chose another motherboard, which made the price go down about 100$.

Hey! Sorry about that, I just wanted to get his opinion too. For the PSU, I still prefer Corsair's warranty though. Would you know of any cheaper case with good airflow that could replace the Meshify C?

The nVidia card will peform 5-15 fps better in some games. If you don't need this few extra-fps the Radeon will be much cheaper.
