XFX RX 590 Fatboy Fan problem

NicoBTW

hi, in this day i was having overheating problem with my gpu, i solved changing the thermal paste and adding 2 fans, but the problem now it's that the gpu fans, when under load, spin 200-300 rpm slower than with no load, why? (the fans are set to 100% manually from msi afterburner, top rpm 3500 on no load, 3300 under load)

msi afterburner works perfectly fine with amd gpu's

i have an rx 580 nitro+ overclocked to a stable 1500mhz clock with msi afterburner.

try undervolting your gpu, that should help a lot

ah, that is a good question, there may be another application trying to override the settings, but is that 200rpm that much of a big deal, or are you just wondering why it happens?

maybe it's adrenalin trying to override afterburner ... or maybe it's in the bios if you selected the silent bios fans will run slower at full load to try to reduce noise ... I don't really know.   Did you try uninstalling afterburner just to see how it goes with the radeon software tuning ?

performance, tuning, fan tuning ... also there's on screen display you can activate in the metric tab ...

i re-tested, and the fans slow down instantly by 300 rpm when i open a game, and start to slow down gradually when set at 100% for long
