Intel CPU's generally have more single-core performance, while AMD CPU's generally have more threads. Games don't use all threads of a CPU, so having fewer threads is no big deal, while having faster cores does help.

Of course this is quite a general statement and does not hold true over all Intel vs. all AMD CPU's.

Depends on how you define 'fast', but I would generally consider 3000Mhz@CL15 to be the very minimum, with 3200Mhz@CL14 or 3600Mhz@CL16 the best options.

They run at higher frequencies giving better core performance which is what matters for most games.

clock for clock, IPC AMD would win. Intel only beats AMD because of there clock speeds being much higher. SIngle threaded AMD is right there or beats them in many tests and multithreaded AMD whoops intel like a red headed step child.

For a 3700x, the speeds recommended for best performance is 3600mhz because of the Fclock, or the speeds at which the infinity fabric between the CCX's talk as it scales 1:1 with the memory clock up to 3600mhz.

It depends

One of the reasons is simply it can boost higher because it only has one ccx allowing it to not have as much latency as AMD

Yea

It has multiple ccxs which introduces latency and for the interconnect to work faster for it to allow the ccxs to communicate faster it needs fast ram

That's the super basic explanation but it should do the job ;)

Fun Fact: The Meshify c is the best case to ever exist.

Yeah, that will work fine.

If you can find lower CAS latency memory for not much more, you could consider that. Gives a tiny boost in performance.
