Building first PC, Please critique

Budget (including currency): ~$1000 USD

Country: United States

 

 

My aim for building this computer is to be able to play a variety of games as well as use 3D modeling and Adobe programs. I also want to have the option to easily upgrade parts such as the cpu, ram and storage in the future.

 

Right now my build that I have put together on pcpartpicker.com is:

 

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 3.6 GHz 6-core Processor

Motherboard: Asus ROG STRIX B450-F GAMING ATX AM4 Motherboard

RAM: Corsair Vengence LPX 2x8 GB DDR4-3200 CL16 memory

Storage: Samsung 860 Evo 1 TB 2.5" SSD

GPU: MSI GeForce RTX 2060 Super 8 GB GAMING X video card

Power supply: Corsair CXM 650 W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX power supply

 

Again, this is my first attempt at building a PC so any critique would be helpful! If anyone has any insight/advice, that would be helpful too! My biggest concern is whether or not everything is compatible.

dont know about the psu i my self would prefer be quiet (yes im kind of a fanboy for ther psus)

and i would switch to 240gig m.2 ssd and an lager hdd but thats also only personal

No, at this price point keep the 1tb ssd and that psu is fine.

On the mobo and ram, I would wait the 11 days before the b550 drops and see the youtuber reviews! It's a platform that will be supported more in the future. 
Also, the strix is apparently very bad from what I have heard. The b450 tomahawk is a much better b450 board. 

In the case of the ram, if you're waiting on the b550, you could choose a b550 that supports 3600 Mhz clock speed and 16 cas latency for less than $80.

For this card, a LOT of people will recommend a 5700XT, since I know very little on this, I cannot recommend a card. (I'd put 20 bucks that someone else will), but I can recommend that you look into it. I love NVIDIA, but it's worth a look.

Is the b550 that you are referring to new model of the strix that is coming out or a different model?

 b550 is a new motherboard for AMD CPUs that is about to be released. 

Strix is just a brand name for ASUS gaming products.

That’s just a rating for how much power will be lost during conversion.

B550 is a chipset

I think the Radeon equal to that graphics card is cheaper, but anyhows looks quite perfect! (still would check the PSU tier list and make sure the power supply is not a fire hazard...)
