Is there any bottleneck?

Recommended Posts

AMD Ryzen 7 3700x
32GB Corsair 3200Mhz
GTX 1060 6GB
M.2 256GB (Boot drive)
1TB storage (Games)
GIGABYTE X570 AORUS ELITE

I already have everything but the cpu.
Is it ok with these components?

Is there any advice?
Is there any bottleneck?

If by bottleneck you mean something that will limit your GPU performance, no.

In fact, your biggest bottleneck in that build is your GPU. You have a beast of a PC with a 1060 its like having a Ferrari but with bicycle tires (asuming you want to game on that pc)

there will ALWAYS be a bottleneck, I dont think people quite get what bottlenecks are.

At some point, there will be something holding something else back, that is the nature of computers. And what bottlenecks what, will 100% depend on the workload you are giving the system.

If you are wanting to cruse through giant databases, the RAM could be a bottleneck, if you are wanting to game at super high fidelity, the GPU would be a bottleneck, if you wanted to host a large website like a forum the storage would be a bottleneck.

what i'm trying to say is, you already have most of these components, and even if you didn't, there will always be something, somewhere, bottle-necking something else.

The CPU is a overpowered for a GTX 1060.

Did you use the gtx 1060 from your previous build or you bought it new ?

@LordWk so should i change my 1060 when i can afford new graphics card?

If the PC is for gaming, your CPU is quite overkill for what your GPU can deliver. If gaming IS a secondary priority, it should be ok, but dont expect to play at 1080p high +60FPS with nowadays games.

If you are buying it brand new I would recommend you seeking other options.

The 3700x is a beast for such tasks, especially video editing and multitasking. Good Choice :D

Yes, you can upgrade to a 3080 or 3080 ti when that comes out.... (if u can)

Your CPU can handle multiple GPU upgrades.

I bet they will cost  1500$-2000$ andi don't see a big reason to buy them early, maybe a 2060 super or 2070 is enough upgrade

Rather than bottleneck people should ask

“Is this CPU good enough for this GPU at this resolution and target FPS for the games I play ?”

But just saying “bottleneck” is easier I guess.
