Corsair recalls SF series platinum psus over failure problems

let alone that Delta employs over 83.000 people in total, while Superflower (only has 1 production line afaik), Seasonic (51-200 according to their linkedin), CWT (18.000) and Greatwall (15.000) combined have less (and technically CWT and GW are possibly higher tiers than Seasonic/SF as well, but I can only confirm of the latter two being "tier 3")

@5x5

I'm pretty sure that Great Wall number is quite low.  The "about me" statement on their website that says "15,000" is from 2009.

Delta is so huge because of the multitude of power devices they make.  That 83,000 people includes folks working on adapters, solar panels, power storage systems, fans/cooling, robotics, touch panels, etc.  They're HUGE.

Great Wall is in a similar situation.  They make a lot more than just SMPS.

The CWT number might be low too.  Their website is current enough to show the Vietnam raw materials factory, but they're now building complete PSUs there too and you don't see that on their website.

Those power supplies would probably start a house fire in my house with humidifier running 24/7, good they are recalling those PSU's

They wouldn't cause a house fire because they don't "ignite".

The humidity causes a crystallization that causes the failure.  The humidity itself doesn't cause the failure.

Ive been running a Corsair SF600 PSU for about 1.5 yrs now, and very happy with it. (not one of the affected batch obviously).

Corsair make the best SFX PSU's. Had a Silverstone SF450 before this, and it was too loud.

Good they are taking defect seriously.

Oh boy, I checked mine and it's right in the recall group. Fortunately I've not used it yet, as I'm waiting on completing my build until I've finished with uni work, but I really don't want to be sat around waiting on replacing a PSU when everything else is ready. Guess I just have to hope corsair support can be quick in the UK

Solid support.

You mean there are instances where companies don't cover shipping and the cost of the replacement unit during a recall? 🤔

pretty sure some companies will still expect you to pay shipping for the return product, but they'll replace it for free. You've got to be a company that really hates loyalty in your customers if you don't offer free shipping though.
