I first saw some of his NCIX build log stuff. It was right after I got screwed over by TigerDirect building me a computer...

Helped me learn how to fix it. :P

something about a usb shaver I think.  Then I went and watched a load of his actual tech ones

Beneath this mask there is more than flesh. Beneath this mask there is an idea, Mr. Creedy, and ideas are bulletproof.

As I get older I get angrier more cynical, meaner. I feel some warning posts coming. I feel a ban coming. I was warned.

Searched "how to build a gaming pc" in youtube and it was within the first 5 videos and had a similar budget to what I was looking for.

I knew nothing about gaming and very little about pc hardware but I'd just played Skyrim and I was so hooked.

6 months later I finished my first build watching along that same video. Thanks Linus!

When I'd picked parts for my PC build a couple years ago, I started to search YouTube for reviews of the components that I'd decided to buy. Linus had a review or unboxing video for practically all of them. At first I thought he was just a slightly camp Canadian that demos products for a retail outlet. But I slowly realised (by his sheer persistence of turning up on every video I searched for) that he was passionate about tech and he knew his shit.

Mine was the Radeon 6870 triple monitor setup because I was about to buy a 6870.

Yeah me too, or at least it was one the many 6870 videos he did. I then went on the watch all of them, and was convinced to buy one in my first pc! At that point i had no knowledge of GPUs or any components really, but i made a pretty good choice.

Still got the 6870, and still happy with it!

We don't recall the videos, we recall the reasons why we watched those videos. Those reasons are then linked to the videos that we watched. Notice how some of us explain how we found Linus.

Yeah I honestly can't say that I do. I'd like to say Maybe the unboxing of the Phantom 410, but ehhhh. I do remember thinking how effeminate he was and then I saw   the socks with sandals later on and understood completely.  ;)
