Help me build a pc please!

2 minutes ago, Dedayog said:

A $1000 PC can't support a $500 GPU, sorry to say.  As @Oswin shows, a good balanced PC runs with a 3600 and 5700XT at the max.  Trying to squeeze a 2080 in there would result in cutting WAY too many corners, if not impossible.

see thats cool but thats also a lot of fancy things i have no idea about hahaha...

i only know that builind is better then prebuilt

since you have a 1000 USD budget you can get a pretty packed pc. for the processor you could go for a ryzen 5 3600 or even a ryzen 7 2700. the stock cooler should do for it if you dont plan on overclocking. for the gpu, you could pair it with something like a 2070 super, 1080ti or a 2080. i would say wait for the b550 motherboards coming out on june 16 but if its urgent you could go for a b450 or even an x570.  throw in maybe 16 or even 32 gigs of ram, but 32 gigs is overkill imo so its your choice. put in a rm series corsair PSU of 750 watts and put in an 500GB SSD with a 2TB HDD. you could pick a cabinet of your choice according to needs.

750 watts for a 1000$ build is pretty much overkill, you will barely even draw 500 watts out of it

he would need to upgrade to something crazy like a 10980XE overclocked and a 2080ti to go near or over the 700 watt threshold

For gaming? No
For productivity? Also no

Get a Ryzen 5 3600, ASRock B450 Pro4, a Crucial P1 1TB (instead of that WD Blue and shit SATA SSD) and a 5600 XT.

Basically this. The only thing I'd change is the case and get a Cooler Master Silencio 452/550 for the sound dampening and cleaner aesthetic.

what exact answer are you expecting? people have been posting part lists. you need to decide on one, buy the parts and build the pc. if you need help with anything else, be more specific about what you need.

I don’t know what all to say as I don’t know where to begin with building a pc,

I think this is probably the best build along out there. In part 3 he goes over OS installation and driver setup, etc.

Paul is just the chillest dude.

I think there are ways you can put the money into more performance.

Check this out:

  • You could certainly save on that Pro 4 board. It may require a pretty annoying BIOS update, which would require an older Ryzen CPU to perform. This board comes stock with the right BIOS for the 3600. (All of the MAX series boards do, this one is the only one PCPartpicker shows in stock. If you find any of the other units, the B450 A-Pro MAX / B450 Pro VDH Max is just as good for a 3600 and lower cost usually.)
  • The TCSunbox X3 is incidentally the only budget end SSD that comes with DRAM cache as far as I can tell. It's a win.
  • The 2070 Super is where I would like to be at this price point. The GPU is where most of your gaming ability is coming from, so I'd pack in the best unit possible.
  • I wouldn't waste budget cash on case fans. Build, use, and add as needed. If the build isn't overheating right out of the box, there isn't a need for more spending.
