connect to bluetooth remotely?

I have a few bluetooth thermometers but when you leave home they are useless. Is there anyway to connect to bluetooth remotely? Like some kind of BT hub that would connect to your wifi.

Because those are the answers. Get cheap or used phone. Doesn't need to even hold battery well, just have Wifi and BT conenctions. I use my old phone as Wifi hotspot for mobile internet. Writing this using it.
