Welcome to the world of narrow ILM! The cooler you'd selected is square ILM, which is too wide.

This might help you find what you're after:

Hey everyone!

A while back I got a hold of some cheap server hardware just to goof around with. I am currently trying to find some coolers that match up with the socket but after 3 attempts I can not figure out what cooler I am supposed to be looking for. The CPUs are Xeon e5 2640s.

This :LINK: was what I was sure I was supposed to grab but its not even close to fitting the socket mounts.

The motherboard I think is a Inventec B800GA1 (but i cant really find anything about it online that is usefull.)

If anyone has any idea, please let me know.

I just noticed that square ILM and was trying to figure out what that was. Thanks a ton.
