Portable Internal SSD for Updates

Recommended Posts

Posted · Original PosterOP

This is my plan. I have a slow download speed connection at my home, and I want to purchase a decent 2.5" SATA SSD that I can transport via an enclosure, and take with me somewhere with faster speeds to update or download files, games, etc. I will also modify my PC case to run the SATA power and data cables outside for easier removal/install.

I am also looking for recommendations on a 1TB, DRAM cache, quality 2.5" SSD, and enclosure w/ 3.1 USB speeds.

in the Aliexpress theres a good combo of M.2 2242 and an USB encosure for that.

Above ~550MB enclosures are for PCIE M.2 and barely exceed 1GB/s speeds, so seems not much point, at least for me.

I am not sure if my writings have any help though.

... but I'm no expert
