Adding a second 1080Ti

Budget (including currency): £700

Country: UK

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Mainly gaming, occasional video editing and college work

Current build consists of:

  • intel i7-8700k CPU
  • MSI Z370 SLI Plus
  • Single GeForce GTX 1080Ti Strix
  • EVGA SuperNova 750w PSU
  • Phanteks Enthoo Evolv case

I am looking at adding a second GPU to my PC but im not sure if A) the benefits outweigh the costs B) I need to upgrade anything else to stop bottlenecks. I have seen a few used GeForce GTX 1080Ti Strix on ebay for anywhere between £500 and £700 and they all look to be in good condition, with that in mind i would like to know how much of an improvement i would get when it comes to running games. Right now i can run most games on ultra locked at 60fps due to my monitor, i have upgraded to a 144hrz monitor so it would be nice to get the most out of that. I do get frame rate drops in larger games like AC odessey so have to drop to high and turn down shadows and stuff like that to help.

The only issue i know i would need to solve is finding a new way to get wifi connection as the motherboard lacks built in network other than LAN, i have a cheap network card installed onto the board right now but could probbaly get a usb wifi adapter. I also have no idea how sli  works and would have to watch some videos about it
