Best CPU for my Use

So have been debating for a few weeks to upgrade from a 7700k.

Options are 3700x and intel 10900k or 10700k (for better price)

I have the money for both and the motherboard.

 

My use is gaming, streaming, and video editing/rendering/encoding.

I just hate to try one and not know what the other is like. I can't find any quick and dirty information on the 10700k.

This would be my choice too, or if your more gaming focused try and wait till ryzen 4th gen

3700x or 3900X. AMD is better for editing and streaming than intel.

The single-threaded performance on Ryzen is just slightly lower than Intel's 10th gen, although the multi-threaded performance is significantly better on Ryzen. If you find a 3800X at the same/similar cost to the 3700X, then I would go for the 3800X. You will most likely see significant performance benefit with Ryzen for streaming, rendering, and editing workloads.

Steve from Gamer's Nexus has come to the conclusion that the i7-10700K is a disappointment. The single threaded performance is basically identical to the i5-10600K for much more cost, while it doesn't offer enough multithreaded improvement compared to the i9- 10900K. 

 

On the Ryzen side of things, it's basically impossible to be disappointed by a Ryzen 7 3700X. Boxed cooler is decent, 8 cores for basically the same experience as the i9-9900K, runs great on mid range B450 boards (though if you make content you may want to splurge on an X570 board, if you can get your hands on one)

Really cutting my budget with an 3900x. I have never used a ryzen, the 3700x is better price for me but it is able to overclock right?

I want to as it's fun.

Oh well that's basically my answer and thanks to everyone information on AMDs ryzen option. too. Ryzen XT are coming I hear to claim performance crown. I've never used an AMD CPU before now Ryzen I hear good about but my 7700k was good just time to upgrade this years games and better/faster productivity.

3700x for the price is keeping under $500 so that is what I'll be going with I think, and an Asus TUF x570 for that cause I love dark boards.

Well it is that big of a difference? A lot people say it's just a 3700x with a highier base clock for about $40 more.

3800X coems with better out of box cooler, Ryzen auto-OC if thermal and power is enough to do so.

The 10700K just won most disappointing CPU on Gamers Nexus youtube video this morning....so there's that.

 

It it were me and Gaming was my focus here 10900K as it will also do your other tasks very well.  But if you want better all round performance and are cool with what might be unperceivable fps gaming differences or you game in games that are already maxed out....then a 3900x is the way to go, step up from the 3700/3800x and you'll be much happier with the higher clock speeds and extra cores.

It is not the same as the 3700X with higher base clock, although you could say that it is a better binned version of it, 3800X is better for overclocking if you want to push the performance even further than the automatic boost OC and there is a better cooler included.

The rumors aren't very consistent, some say 3800 XT and some say 3850X. I'm still not convinced these processors exist

Might get 3900x just from $291 to $421 after tax at micro center here is the cheapest I could find. I do like seeing the "12/24 threads" though, ahah

Also I'm on a AIO. 3800x does have a better price so that I think would be the highest I'll go. Thanks you all.

You right. Makes more sense to just say zen3 4000.
