F@H Web Client Dark Skin with PPD comparison by GPU / WU

Go to solution Solved by LAR_Systems,

HI everyone,  Quick update.

There was some server updates today to deal with server resource issues so sorry if you  were impacted by some strangeness like WU averages etc. being a little strange while this occurred.

In addition to the cleanup you will now find that for GPU projects the Atoms and Cause is reported on the slots.

Atoms and Cause coming to CPU slots soon.

image.png.96a2a24471ee3392c37e18b8310adc99.png

The PPD indicator has been updated so there is a +/- 10% tolerance for the red or green indicators coming on for when you GPU slot is operating within this "Average" range making it a more useful indication as to when PPD is out of the ordinary.

Project pages on the database site have been updated to show the Atoms, Core and project branch status of projects.

image.png.d3fcd4c830ec61537d13dc93b7450eae.png

And CPU based project pages (link found in the CPU slots in the web client) now contain the BETA charts for PPD-PLC (PPD per logical processor) as that system builds data and is under review.

image.thumb.png.03ed6ca321e14602de92ef37145c6c2c.png

These client based updates will trickle in to the wild over the next couple hours and take effect with a refresh of the page when they do.

I still have missing stats occasionally.

Also while the folding t-shirt logo looks awesome displaying it now uses 5% GPU :(

image.png.316b847224718f2260c0155be43748e5.png

The missing stats has been patched in v1.0.6:  The stats were only displayed for GPUs in the "Folding/Running" state and would not display on the "Finishing" state as seen in your screen shot.

After doing a bit of testing over here the additional overhead of the animated GIFs and trying different ways of showing / indicating movement I have opted to simply remove them outright.

I have a 2080 Super as well and it's showing up on my GPUs 3D render overhead, as did the original F@H client and it's just the graphic... while I thing the indicator is important for the general audience... here on the LTT team I think most would understand the want to get resources back and not have a visual animation of folding.

v1.0.7 has been submitted for approval at Google and will keep the folding shirt icons, but they will be static now, which on my system makes the page not really touch the 3D part of the GPU while folding.

Competition within competition!

My 2080 Super got bumped down 1 rank since I deployed the feature, taking off my power limits crossed my mind... lots of competition on the LTT team ;)

Are you leaving the animation for the none LTT skin... can slow them down a little lmfao jk jk but may be good to have it there for the general audience

For the time being... yes, yes I have ;)

But yes, I think for those completely new or not able to jump in an learn from a team leaving the default colors and animations for the folding indicators is a good thing... for us.. folding shirt in jokes, better performance etc. is fine.

The real truth is... my GPU is reporting 10% better than the average PPD for the most part since pulling the GIFs... varies a little by WU or specific fold... but overall more resources to the fold.

good News all if you have a 144Hz+ screen you will will agree the Folding Motion on the new icon is sooo much smoother totally now going to upgrade all my screens to 144 hz sorry no gpu or cpu upgrades for a while now having to upgrade to 144Hz screens jus so the animation is smoother thanks @LAR_Systems.../jk but 100% serious about the anamagion being smoother on my G5 vs my other screens and systems

It looked pretty good on my peasant 100Hz monitor too... but it's a short lived feature... next version it will be a static image as it's been identified that it actually takes GPU cycles from folding.

Hi everyone... the latest build v1.0.7 is available.

This is the one that pulls the animated GIFs for better GPU performance so forcing update for the Folding event might be a good idea.

Cheers,

Steve

Version 1.0.7 – Beta Updates & Patches
---------------------------------------------

Update – LTT Skin removal of animated GIFs to reduce browser 3D rendering overhead allocating more GPU resources for folding

Version 1.0.6 – Beta Updates & Patches
---------------------------------------------

Fix - GPU performance data displayed on fresh load when "Finishing" a WU

Update – LTT Skin style and image updates

Nice, 1.0.7 works great! Kinda looks like nothing is happening without the animated gif, but... PPD :P

Is there a way to force the extension to load for a remote machine?

I have a 2nd machine folding and typically have a window for the web control open for it as well on my main one (accessing by ip, http://192.168.0.31:7396/) but the extension doesn't load for that :(

@LAR_Systems

Not sure how 1.0.7 looks for others, but I gotta ask a few questions.

Is it only me or is everyone seeing green line above image (was GIF previously), check the image:

TROUBLESHOOT.thumb.PNG.18943bdfb5ee627164e4188317ec5d80.PNG

Also, I got used to clicking "Enable No Sleep Mode" down below where it says "Extension Modes" but since it updated, when I click it, it just pops me a new tab which seems to have No Sleep Mode enabled (check upper right corner of your extension, it says: "Disable No Sleep Mode" which in addition to URL (chrome-extension://alpjkkbjnbkddolgnicglknicbgfahoe/fah_custom.html?nofade=true) indicates that it is working correctly) but the button below still says "Enable No Sleep Mode" as if it is disabled.

Also, in addition in what I said previously, even though it says "Stats are disabled to avoid extra API call strain on F@H systems when running in always on (no sleep) mode.
Stats are still recorded normally." I am still getting same API calls in same interval (1.5 seconds as recorded by F@H Advanced Client). Which might indicate that No Sleep Mode is not actually running for me... Also, for a brief second I saw that the tab went to sleep but as I am using this system currently, I cannot be 100% sure, will check this on other systems in few hours and report back.

EDIT (14:20 Local Time):

No green lines on AMD system (1700x and R9 380) - will update about sleep mode

On both Intel systems there are green lines:

i7 8700k 2080 S (you saw the picture above) has one green line on top and sleep mode seems to be bugged

i3 8300F (if I remember correctly) has 2 green lines, one on top and one on left side of the picture.
