F@H Web Client Dark Skin with PPD comparison by GPU / WU

Go to solution Solved by LAR_Systems,

HI everyone,  Quick update.

There was some server updates today to deal with server resource issues so sorry if you  were impacted by some strangeness like WU averages etc. being a little strange while this occurred.

In addition to the cleanup you will now find that for GPU projects the Atoms and Cause is reported on the slots.

Atoms and Cause coming to CPU slots soon.

image.png.96a2a24471ee3392c37e18b8310adc99.png

The PPD indicator has been updated so there is a +/- 10% tolerance for the red or green indicators coming on for when you GPU slot is operating within this "Average" range making it a more useful indication as to when PPD is out of the ordinary.

Project pages on the database site have been updated to show the Atoms, Core and project branch status of projects.

image.png.d3fcd4c830ec61537d13dc93b7450eae.png

And CPU based project pages (link found in the CPU slots in the web client) now contain the BETA charts for PPD-PLC (PPD per logical processor) as that system builds data and is under review.

image.thumb.png.03ed6ca321e14602de92ef37145c6c2c.png

These client based updates will trickle in to the wild over the next couple hours and take effect with a refresh of the page when they do.

@LAR_Systems do we need to leave the extension open to to collect data or does it do it automatically?

It can only log data when the extension is open as it's web based.

If you add ?nofade=true to the end of the URL it will not go to sleep and keep sending WU data about every hour.

Any chance of getting this for firefox? I rarely use chrome other than for google drive and other compatibility issues with sites, would be really dope to have dark theme for it there too though. Also hi guys, new here first post but search my name on the LTT folding team you'll find me on cruise control for the top slots, figured it was time to come to the forums as well as the discord. Thanks for your contribution to the community regardless, i'm guessing it's cool for us to share this to whoever might want it? Most everyone I know in the tech space uses Firefox because they're concerned about being monitored and other factors, such as the fact that I work for JWZ (one of the original firefox devs) and know a chunk of the team as a result, but many of them have been complaining about no dark theme for it when there's multiple dark themes for the advanced client, yet nobody with dev capabilities actually has the time to make one lol.

Not sure if this is an issue on my end but the extension doesn't work for Chrome on Linux Mint 19.3. Fresh install, permissions enabled. FAHClient v7.5.1. Default skins in incognito mode as well on both Linux and WIndows 10.

Chrome v.  83.0.4103.61

It's possible the Linux version has a different web client interface,  this rapid prototyping of the client / servers solution so far has only been using windows.  I will need to re purpose a folding machine to Linux boot sooner than later to have a test machine to look in to this.

Porting the solution to FIrefox does not look like it will be that difficult but for the sake of the beta and my sanity want to address any client / server surprises while only maintaining the one branch for now.

The entire solution is currently about 24 hours old right now, so want to crawl before I run with scissors. :)

These types of features are planned but want to get a critical mass of GPUs and WU variety before enabling them on the database site or the client before building reports that report in more detail as it would all be very flat data right now when the bulk of the GPUs have been logged only in the past 24 hours.

Just trying to include as much info as possible here.

Version 81.0.4044.138 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Folding Client version, 7.5.1

If you need anymore info please do let me know!

I looked in to this a few different ways last night and am really confused.   LowinRollers post shows a client with a Billion displaying correctly so... that's not it.  I tried simulating your username / team ID directly to the F@H API and get the results I would expect with your huge scores.

So that leaves me wondering if you could confirm your OS/version,  and otherwise if you would be open to trying upgrading to the latest F@H client ?

The way the underlying client works may be causing something I can't simulate on my systems as I don't have a system running a client going back as far as 7.5.1.

The way the web client works is by communicating with interfaces in the F@H service that runs on the system like their web client and advanced client... but the web client  session method changed with the latest version in how they handle session data.

So my version has to have some compatibility mode type stuff to actually try and check if you have an older version and get the user session ID to talk to the service two different ways based on which version/service of the client you have.

I'm curious if the version you are running is not compatible with the two different methods I'm checking for and is something else... which in that case I will probably have to update the extension to  warn / nag users to upgrade if they are below a certain version on their system.

I think that is when you are producing the exactly amount of PPD as the DB predicts. Usually when you are the first to submit data on that exact GPU/WU dataset.

@LAR_Systems we offer folding tech support on the folding community board to anyone who needs it, even if you don't fold for TeamLTT, would be nice if you could add that to your website and possibly the client skin. We want to get as many people folding as possible, regardless of what team! (but secretly, we want them to fold for LTT)

I'm not home yet on ITNOS or my main system so I cant test this, but does the link go to the Forum home page or does it go to the Folding Request thread?

Right now the forum link goes to the folding section https://linustechtips.com/main/forum/37-foldinghome-boinc-and-coin-mining/

I want to link directly to the badge request thread... but the URL looks like it changes when the "last update" edit is made to the title.

So this makes it a problem, because if it's changed again... it will be a dead link in the client and the Chrome approval process can be days to make an edit to the client to keep up.

Does the forum have perma-links to threads by ID I could use as a permanent link?

Seems to work as a permalink in my testing

As long as the thread ID# is the same and it has some text as a title it'll work and direct to the thread.

eg. https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/1069238-jibberish/

You can just use something like https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/1069238-forum-badge/

I like the LTT colour scheme you're using. Is it possible to make it as a theme for the advanced client? I'm not even sure if you can use custom themes in the advanced client or if you can only use the built in F@H themes.

You should pop over to PCMR to promote the extention and poach some new team members. 🙂
