Very bad fps with nvidia gtx 960m on minecraft

can someone help me, i have a dell 7559 laptop with an i7 6799 with nvidia gtx 960m. On other games like overwatch i have 60++ fps but on minecraft i barely have 20 fps. please help me fix it.

I would recommend getting a mod for minecraft such as optifine, which allows the cpu to utilize all cores. Doing this should DRASTICALLY improve your fps!

Also try to play with different settings, such as render distance, as they can affect performance!

yes i do have optifine and my render distance is 8

Make sure your using your GPU and not the igpu

If I remember correctly I think it is f3 to read the specs that are used for the game

Also make sure that your max FPS is set to unlimited or something high, as that could prevent it from going high

yesi have it on unlimited and when i press f3 it says the nvdia 960m
