Anything you would fix here for a similar price?

Guest

Hey guys, just looking for any tips on making this better performance for the money, but generally pretty set on most of the parts.

Any ideas?

Budget (including currency): 1200-1400 CAD

Country: Canada

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Games

Other details: Will be for 1080p75hz gaming (already have the monitor), looking for good value while getting 80fps~ on high settings. For someone coming from a PS4, here's the part list

Replace the graphics card with a different brand, the ventus cards have a bad heat sink design and tend to run fairly hot.

Would it be a problem if it wasn't overclocked? Any other 1660 seems to be like $100 more than this one.

How's this guy? I have this version of the 1070 and it's been great for me.

I would change PSU with this https://www.newegg.com/seasonic-focus-plus-650-gold-ssr-650fx-650w/p/N82E16817151186

CPU Would go for R5 3600X https://www.newegg.com/amd-ryzen-5-3600x/p/N82E16819113568

GPU https://www.newegg.com/zotac-geforce-gtx-1660-ti-zt-t16610f-10l/p/N82E16814500462?&quicklink=true

or add another 35$ for 1070 https://www.newegg.com/pny-geforce-gtx-1070-rgmx1070n3h8gs-ktn/p/N82E16814133701?Description=gtx 1070&cm_re=gtx_1070-_-14-133-701-_-Product

maybe this one is not the best but later you can aftermark cooler

You pick solid Mother Board

I would go for this keyboard https://www.newegg.com/steelseries-apex-3-rgb-gaming-keyboard-10-zone-rgb-illumination-ip32-water-resistant-premium-m/p/N82E16823239056

Mouse, hmm once I sad my self newer again Logitech I would recomend this one maybe you can try it https://www.newegg.com/sharkoon-000skdmb-drakonia-usb-2-0-wired/p/0TP-0058-00001

For Storage you can go with better 250GB SSD and secondary 500gb or 1tb some cheaper as drive D

But thats my suggestion.

I see you posted the USA website, where prices are significantly lower, did you factor in the conversion?

Why does it seem like the CPU is crazy high priced ?

I bought my ryzen 5 3600 at Micro center (usa) for $150

Canadian prices are absurd, you need to add like 35-50% to the price, plus my 15% sales tax as well. It's honestly horrible lmao.

It's fine, those recommendations make you lose money/quality anyways

Get an mATX board, and drop the thermal paste-you dont need it. That will save you a few bucks.

Here's something you can consider:

Community Standards || Tech News Posting Guidelines

---======================================================================---

CPU: R5 3600 || GPU: RTX 3070|| Memory: 32GB @ 3200 || Cooler: Scythe Big Shuriken || PSU: 650W EVGA GM || Case: NR200P
