Upgrade options for 6600K

Hey! So i recently bought a 2070 Super to pair along with my existing 6600K only to find out that my CPU is severely bottle-necking the GPU, its so bad that playing games like GTA V, Anthem and even Valorant experience huge drops in FPS.

So I am looking for a replacement CPU somewhere within the R3 3300X to R5 3600 Range, hyper threading is desired because i tend to stream once in awhile but its not a priority (i mostly do just chatting). Ideally, if i could save as much money as possible, i'd honestly prefer to.

 

The options i've thought of so far are 3300X with B450 Aorus Elite/Tomahawk Max

 

TLDR: Need to replace 6600K, New CPU and motherboard must be compatible with 2070 Super. Any Recommendations

 

Current PC Specs:

I5-6600K

Z170A M5

Zotac 2070 Super

3 x 4GB Ram (I have 1 broken ram slot)

You shouldn't be experiencing drops like that. My 7600k plays those titles perfectly fine.

Wait for the R5 4600.

maybe because he's getting single channel only once memory usage exceed 8gb?

I did not expect drops like that at all, but I only have to assume that my CPU is wonky. Bad Luck

Regarding the 4600, I don't think i'd wait for that, i would have enlisted into the army by then so no chance to use it even if i bought it then :/

Hmm, I tried closing as many background applications to reduce the memory usage but still not good.

Unless you can find a used i7 7700k for less than like $120ish then there is no logical upgrade on that platform. Upcoming 4th gen Ryzen would be my suggestion.

did you use DDU to uninstall the old video driver?
