Has anyone seen the Raspberry Pi rival by AMD? (Source url at the bottom)

Axiomtek announced a new embedded single-board computer (SBC) this month known as the CAPA13R. With its compact form factor, the board is fit to compete against the Raspberry Pi and does so with a key secret weapon: an AMD Ryzen APU. 

With an embedded AMD Ryzen V1807B or Ryzen V1605B APU, the CAPA13R offers integrated graphics, making it ideal for more graphically intense applications, like 3D rendering and video recording. With the Ryzen V1807B, makers are getting access to AMD's Radeon Vega 11 graphics, while the Ryzen V1605B comes with the lesser Radeon Vega 8 graphics. 

The Ryzen APUs also give the CAPA13R support for up to 16GB of RAM using one DDR4 SO-DIMM.

The CAPA13R SBC measures 3.5 inches across, which is comparable to the form factor of the Raspberry Pi. It has Ethernet support by default, but you can upgrade the device to support wireless connectivity with the right adapter.

The CAPA13R has two  M.2 slots: one M.2 Key E and one M.2 Key B. You can use the E slot for a wireless module, while the B slot is reserved for storage cards. 

The CAPA13R has a few options when it comes to display output as well, with two HDMI ports, one DisplayPort and one LVDS interface. The unit requires a 12V power supply. For more spec information, check out this data sheet [PDF] from Axiomtek.

Edit: I am agreeing that it would be hard to match the Raspberry Pi in price but we won't know until they reveal a price (yes I know it is unlikely it will).

Stuff like this exists already, the reason that they haven't been true competitors to the Pi is because they cost like 10x as much.

Cool but not even in the realm of what the pi is. I spy a 4 pin power connector. A pi can run off a simple 12v adapter from a USB port

Pretty much. The Raspberry Pi 4 cpu is on the very cusp of being enough to reliably run Beetle PSX emulation. However, the gpu is lousy for CRT-Royale. However, It is a bit daft to spend $200-$300 on a Ryzen sbc (they already exist) when my desktop does the job already, minus the convenience of a small box. 
 

Honestly, if Raspberry Pi got Cortex A73s, or even dual A75s and a (much) better GPU, it would probably be perfect for what I want, even if I had to pay closer to $75 base.

4gb model is about 60 euro.

 

 If something like $50 Athlon 3000 was sold on small board with built in dc power supply and gpio with 8gb of ddr4 and was sold for under double Price of $55 raspberry pi 4 GB, I would call it a high end competitor, about 2x specs for 2x price.  Few hundred dollars more is just a totally different market segment.

Unless it costs only like $30 more than a raspberry pi, I don't think it will compete. One of the raspberry pi's main selling points is how cheap it is.

You can build a nice Raspberry Pi 4 with a  wireless keyboard for ~$150 or less.  This starts at twice that for JUST the board.

rpi is too widely known and the community support is insane. Raspberry Pi Foundation is also a non profit so that's part of the reason they are able to be so cheap.

It would take some ridiculously better product for the same price(which probably isn't at all feasible with today's tech) to replace it.

Raspberry has market share and is developing a code base.  There are devices that are cheaper.  They tend to have fewer features.  There are devices with more features.  They tend to be more expensive.

I wish there was an affordable single board computer with AMD64 support, 8GB of memory, and acceptable video. The standard LattePanda seems cool, but Win 64-bit support is apparently iffy and it only has up to 4gb ram. Their Alpha 864s 8gb/64gb looks great but it's $450 with a Windows license, deep into more powerful laptop territory.

This is not really that new of an idea. In fact, x86 based SBCs used to be quite common and even invented the idea of shields: Stackable extension boards.

More than likely, this board sits somewhere between the Nvidia Jetson Nano and the RPi.
