My monitor is hot to touch?

dbpx2

Guys I always use my monitor in 120hz (its 144hz but I use HDMI) and full brightness, or on FreeSync with full brightness.

My monitor mostly be so hot to touch, I always worry about it.

Is it safe? Is it healthy for it to be that hot?

Since I cannot feel the heat of your monitor, how does it feel compared to another monitor.

A hot monitor in itself is not weird, many of my monitors are also quite hot. One is out of its plastic case and at brightness 0 but even so it is really hot to touch.

Whether this is normal for your monitor, I don't know.

No, power plug is almost in the center of the monitor. I'm using its original power connector, and everything.

I dont think its normal, I used a really crappy monitor before, 60hz 18.6inch 5ms tn or va panel i dunno, and it never ever went that hot. It was super slim too, really.

oh, okay then..

by the way once i tried to change the resolution to 1600x900 on a game once, the screen was all like deep fried.

i thought it was the game, i closed it and the desktop, everything, basically the screen seemed like the deep fried effect or something like that. like the ones in the memes lol.

What the heck is a deep fried look?

Anyways, electronics get hot. Generally the harder they work the hotter they get, so a higher refresh rate monitor will likely run hotter than an equivalent lower refresh rate model. If you're really worried get one of the IR temp guns and see how hot various parts of the monitor actually are.

Mine run just over 30 C screen surface temp at the hottest.

It's probably fine.
