Senns hd 518 or 558

Hey guys, I'm pretty much set on the senns hd 5x8 series but I don't know which one to get... the 518 is 76 dollars now and the 558 is 127 now. Is the 50 bucks more worth it? I'm the kind of person who likes some bass in my music and no other preferences.. Also, I don't like the design of the 598 and that's a little too expensive.

 

Also, I've only tried the 518 in person, never tried the 558.

People say 518's are more bassy and 558/598 are flat. So it depends what you listen to. I would go with 558.

I have the 518 and 598, and the 518 is less clear (due to the more restrictive grill) and slightly more bassy. The material for the earpads and headband foam are different too. Choose what you like.

i would go for the hd558's youll be happy with em

I had some 558s for a while and they sounded really good, I would recommend them.

If you want bass, then the HD 518 will be better for you, the sound is pretty good and the difference in the materials is just a softer fabric on the earpads and the head band.
