The Arabic language and any derivatives of it using a similar writing script. I could not fucking tell you why, although I'm sure it has to do with me knowing that I'd be killed in most Arabic-speaking countries, anyways.

Arachnophobia. Extreme case, but I can tolerate scorpions (provided I don't study at them too closely). The word "spider" already fills me with fear, "tarantula" is even worse. "Arachnid" is fine.

  • Minecraft's blocky spiders scare the living crap out of me.
  • I used to be able to handle Warcraft III's spider models, but one time I stopped it for a while, and when I jumped back into the game, I forgot how I ever tolerated them.
  • Don't get me started on Dragon Age (Origins, II, and Inquisition), World of Warcraft, or Skyrim. I use mods where possible, but when it's not, I give the arachnid models a wide berth.

FFS, why do RPGs insist on arachnid mobs? It makes me a sad birb. Sad Parrot

I don’t mind spiders too much until I went to Rarotonga, they were larger than my hand. Australian huntsmans are even larger, but for some reason less scary.

Insects, mainly spiders. I remember when I was playing Farpoint in PSVR, and then first few enemy’s are spiders that jump at you face. I screamed and never played that game again.

Spiders aren't insects. They're arachnids. And so are scorpions, which absolutely terrify me. I even tensed up writing that word. I have arachnophobia, although spiders don't bother me at all.

The really weird thing is I used to the scorpions were cool. I wore a necklace with the scorpio symbol when I was a kid. I have no idea when or why that changed, but now I can't be around anything that even reminds me of them. I freaked out when I tried the FF7 remake demo.

Make sure to quote or tag me (@JoostinOnline) or I won't see your response!

Needles.  I have an irrational fear of feeling the needle under my skin moving around.  Its not the pain (I still get shots, blood drawn, whatever but I have to remind myself like deepseated this isn't going to hurt me, just ignore it, man up, etc lol) its just that.  Feeling it inside my body.  It makes my skin crawl thinking about it.

Death. The idea of my consciousness ending causes a bit of a panic attack if I let my mind fixate.

To a lesser extent, spiders/insects. Sometimes I can logically think through it but general reaction is fairly irrational.

Bees and wasps, even though I've never been stung by one. I was never used to the idea of having insects around me, but like 5 years ago the government decided to plant a ton of trees just in front of my house(one is like four storeys tall, one meter apart from the window) and now there are insects literally everywhere.

I'm surprisingly good with some insects, arachnids and the like.  It helps that my sister had pet tarantulas as a teen; you quickly realize that some fears are unfounded when you have a tarantula walking peacefully across your arm.  Some critters, like ladybugs or tiny spiders, are more likely to elicit fascination from me than anything.

If there's any irrational fear guiding me right now, it's probably the stress of COVID-19.  Every time I have to step outside for a necessity it's like a Mad Max adventure where I'm worried about getting too close to someone or touching something that might be infected.  I know washing my hands diligently and wearing a mask will help, but still...

Is it specifically a metal needle, or is it any type?

im a type one diabetic, so I have 2 plastic needles inserted under my skin 24/7. I don’t really feel them, but just thinking that they are there makes me squirmish

Tbh tarantulas don't bother me that much because they act really tame/chill and somehow covered in "fur" makes it look less threatening..

Exactly!  With a few exceptions (I believe there's at least one variety that's aggressive), tarantulas are quite relaxed as long as you aren't doing anything to spook them.  And even if they do bite, it won't be serious.

People. Yea, I'll go with that one.

Oh and jellyfish, but only when I see them in the sea; not when I see them in an aquarium or something.
