LTT Water Bottle wearing out

Is the gold paint on the LTT Water Bottle wearing out for anyone else? I got this at the end of Nov and started using it a few weeks later.

Nope, don't have a dishwasher. And I've washed the outside only a few times.

What what soap? Just regular Dawn dish soap or similar? I'm holding out for a pink one - Linus said something about a pink one coming in the near future on a recent WAN show.

Does the soap have any added abrasives? are you using a brillo pad?

It's says safe to use for hands so I wouldn't assume it to.

Using a bottle cleaner brush. Something that looks like this

Could just be a bad print... Hopefully @CPotter or @LinusTech sees this and if there is a wider issue it will get addressed.

I have the same bottle but I have not seen any wear on it, bought mine right after they came out.

Some people legitimately have much more acidic skin oils. Luke, for example, destroys anything he touches - or at least he used to.

 

Either way, no that shouldn't happen and mine (from pre-launch) is in immaculate condition.

 

Just message customer support. We'll get you a new one.

I agree, I've got 4-5 from the early 2000s that other than a broken lid strap from being played with or hanging the bottle from they hold up crazy well.

I have found that so far my pelican water bottle has held up better than a hydroflask

I’m with you man, I have a nalgene water bottle from 2005, scuffed to all hell after falling down rocky slopes and gravel hills, like literally the whole thing is scuffed, definitely not translucent anymore. The biggest drop it’s had is about 200 feet while rock climbing, about half full, I’m assuming it landed on the cap from the big missing chunk on the brim, but it still works lol.
