Ryzen 5 3600 vs Ryzen 5 2600X

Coming from a Ryzen 3 2200G, should I spend $129 on the R5 2600X or shell out the extra $30 for a R5 3600 OR do you guys have any other recommendations?

I currently have an RX 580 so I didn't need the Radeon Vega graphics.

Makes sense!

Just out of curiosity, would there be any benefit(s) going with the 2600?

No, same amount of cores and threads but weaker.

for the price of the 2600, you'd be ebtter off with the 3300x

I guess my thought process was if I can save $30 and get similar results for gaming and streaming, why not?

Microcenter has them both on sale for a decent price.

with the rx 580 you won't see a big difference between the 2600 and 3600. but if you'll upgrade to a stronger gpu and want to push 144fps or more, the 3600 would have a big advantage over the 2600.

If I can get 60fps in-game and streaming at 1080 I'm happy lol.

The problem is either I stream and play at low settings and get 60fps for both, or I stream and play at medium/high settings and my stream drops god-awful fps.

Even outside of streaming, if I play at high settings, I get a max 50fps (COD: Modern Warfare)

go for the 3600 if streaming as well, you'll need those extra core vs the 3300x

Easy enough!

Considering this was my first build, I would like to believe I have a pretty solid setup aside from the CPU.
