Can't over clock on B450

Guys I cant go further than +0.300v on my motherboard. Because of that I can't put more than 3.9Ghz on my CPU. Why is that happening? I have a 300w water cooling from deepcool. I can overclock it for sure.

Is there any way I can turn off that anti autism protection?

What are your full specs? And when you say you can't overclock more than .3V, do you mean it won't let you or it isn't stable? Another thing,  I haven't overclocked a Ryzen CPU but adding .3V seems like way too much.

It is not. I saw people over clock ryzen 7 2700 up to 4.7Ghz. Not X version. +0.3v is the best voltage for 3.9Ghz. CPU is stable

Thanks for the additional info (next time, that should be all in your FIRST post).

 

With the +0.300V, what is BIOS reporting as the Core Voltage?

 

Is it showing something like 1.45V? 1.55V? 1.600V?

If your baseline voltage is like 1.35V, adding +0.300V to it, will make it 1.65V -- WHICH IS A LOT.

Even for a 2700X.

 

Also, what version BIOS is your board currently running?

If it is much older BIOS version, you may need to update it first.

You should revisit how you overclock your CPUs if the first voltage you try is a +0.3V offset.

Like I said, if baseline voltage is 1.35V, and you are adding +0.300V to it, that is already TOO MUCH.

 

If you are adding +0.250V at once, that is quite a bit -- you should be increasing the Core Voltage little by little.

Little as in +0.025V or +0.050V at a time.

 

Ryzen 2700 should be able to reach 4.0 GHz ~ 4.1 GHz with around 1.4xxV, or even with 1.3xxV in some cases.

4.2 GHz you are looking at something above 1.40V.

If you are pushing 1.5V+, and still only getting 3.9 GHz...

Like I said before, I were doing it by little starting from +0.0v I am not going to put 0.3v at once. That is a 200$ CPU. I inserted some pictures

Ryzen 2700 should be able to reach 4.0 GHz ~ 4.1 GHz with around 1.4xxV, or even with 1.3xxV in some cases.

4.2 GHz you are looking at something above 1.40V.

If you are pushing 1.5V+, and still only getting 3.9 GHz...

Like I said, if baseline voltage is 1.35V, and you are adding +0.300V to it, that is already TOO MUCH.

 

If you are adding +0.250V at once, that is quite a bit -- you should be increasing the Core Voltage little by little.

Little as in +0.025V or +0.050V at a time.

Oh, okay I see.

1.296V is very close to the stock voltage of the Ryzen 2700.

So it looks like your motherboard is not applying the +0.300V change, or something is up.

If +0.300V is already being applied on top of the baseline, then 0.900V Core Voltage is really low.

 

Curious, do you have any of the power saving features enabled or set to Auto at the moment?

What have you gotten stable SO FAR that is under 3.9 GHz?

What overclocking that you get that is Windows OS stable?

it is currently at +0.254 but it is not stable. If i fire up a game like watchdogs 2, it will crash

Can you also see what HWMonitor or HWInfo is showing for the Core Voltage?

 

Why is it showing such a low Core Voltage...

CPU-Z is showing the CPU is running at full 3.9 GHz speed, and it not dropping the CPU Ratio down (e.g. Cool N Quiet kicking in).

If the CPU is idling, and frequency is decreased to like 1.4 GHz (100 MHz x 14), then something under 1.00V makes sense.

 

Do you have the Ryzen power plan installed / selected already?

You dont see the SOC Votage set to Auto?
