5G wifi is better than Ethernet !! please help

RainStormZi

hello

im getting about 250 mbps when i do a speed test from speedtest.net from my android phone

and getting less than 70 mbps !!

be advised that i used both Cat6 and Cat7 cable with exact same results, im connecting from my pc directly to the modem

also bought netgear a6210 (usb wifi adapter usb 3.00) and surprisingly same 70  mbps !!!

i tried everything, i tried changing speed & dublex to 1 gigabit and even tried a usb 3.00 to lan adapter also same problem

tried also fresh re installing windows 10

my lan ethernet is already supporting up to 1 gigabit

i tried every solution and suggestion on the web with no hope so far

so im only getting the full 250 mbps speed from my android speed test !!

pinging with my gateway is 1ms

this is actually blows my mind in so many ways !!!

please help thanks...

What speed is your ISP promising?

Do you have two computers/laptops to plug in and do a https://iperf.fr test?

Is this Huawei 5G H112-370 a CPE device? Are you connecting over 4G/LTE cellular networks with it? And are all your network speed tests done using ethernet?

Did you disable mobile data when running this speed test with your phone to isolate that it was your WiFi that you were testing?

Yes it is a CPE router

Its running on SIM card 5G network

And yes I'm doing tests using ethernet Cat7 cable

And yes of course disabled cellular data when connected to wifi

From my memory of using CPE devices, they were very sensitive to where they’re placed in the house. You have to have good cellular coverage for them to work consistently.

How are you getting 5G cellular? My understanding is that you need to be fairly close to the antenna to get decent speeds.

What is showing up as the link speed for your ethernet adapter?

I would assume that he is not moving the router/modem around to test between Wifi on his phone and wired on his desktop. You've eliminated the cable as the problem. I would also assume you've rebooted the device and your computer. This leads me to two thoughts. There is a problem with the modem, from images of the device I see it has two switch ports on the device you've tried both? Do you have access to another computer or laptop to directly plug in to test the connection? That would eliminate the desktop if the problem persists.

Secondly if the problem doesn't follow to a different computer you could have a bad port on the desktop which might manifest the problem this way as well. Trying with a different computer to validate the problem would be where I start if you can.

Have you contacted your ISP/Provider?

No need to move the router since the phone already getting about 250 mbps

And yes i have tried the both awitches with same results

Actually recently i have done the Playstation speedtest and getting same result as the pc, ps4 connected wiredly

So only the Android is getting the full dose
