Best "budget" 1440p gpu

Well if you dont specify how much FPS you want 30/60/120+, everything can be a budget 1440p GPU.

I live in australia so i can get 2 gtx 1070s for the price of a 5700xt is that a good option

SLI is dead and the two 1070s wouldn't be that much faster than a single 5700XT anyway in a perfect SLI scaling scenario.

The 5700(XT) is the best option for your use case.

Desktop: Intel Core i9-9900K | ASUS Strix Z390-F | G.Skill Trident Z Neo 2x16GB 3200MHz CL14 | EVGA GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER XC Ultra | Corsair RM650x | Fractal Design Define R6

Laptop: 2018 Apple MacBook Pro 13"  --  i5-8259U | 8GB LPDDR3 | 512GB NVMe

Peripherals: Leopold FC660C w/ Topre Silent 45g | Logitech MX Master 3 & Razer Basilisk X HyperSpeed | HIFIMAN HE400se & iFi ZEN DAC | Audio-Technica AT2020USB+

But Ive seen a benchmark video of 2 1070s vs a 2080 ti and the dual 1070s got higher fps

And I am sure you can find ones which show the opposite too.

i5 8600 - RX580 - Fractal Nano S - 1080p 144Hz

The only reason i was talking about sli and nvlink is because i wont have to pay GST(australian tax) which is with every purchase from australia where you have to pay an additional 10% of the products price as tax, but the 2 1070s come from the usa so there is no gst

NVLink was introduced with Nvidia's 20 series cards on the consumer side.

IIRC two 1070s were behind even a single 1080Ti, so I doubt they'd beat a 2080Ti tbh
