I think it is fan made intro and not created by them. They didn't purchased it yet(at the moment of that video making). They will probably pay guy who created it. Its up to them will they use it or not, its fine for me

Ik that it was fanmade but this would be cool this were to be their intro.

I am personally not a fan lol...very impressive intro, but too much going on for what is just an intro to a YouTube video.

They paid to use it once.

If they can get a perpetual license then it will likely be permanent.

Linus did say he would like to licence it to have it permanently, but he didn't elaborate on who made it. Which is a shame. Maybe crediting the creator isn't really required if you're paying him to licence it, but it would still be nice. Was it a fan, or did they contract somebody to make it? I'm just curious.

It depends on the terms of the licence.

It could vary from free to use as long as credited or pay for use without creator credit.

Namedropping the creator at that point would be at the user's discretion.
