Sansung Galaxy S5 will have a fingerprint scanner

Early in 2014, rumors suggested that Samsung Galaxy S5 will have Fingerprint Scanning technology like iPhone 5s.

Samsung Galaxy S5 fingerprint sensor will be implemented into the Galaxy S5’s Home button.

The sensor itself works in a swipe manner, which means that you would need to swipe the entire pad of your finger, from base to tip, across the home key to register your fingerprint properly.

Also, you would need to keep your finger flat against the home key and swipe at a moderate speed or else it won’t recognize your fingerprint.

You can feed total 8 fingerprints in Galaxy S5 and assign each fingerprint a different task or use it as an app shortcut, but at least 1 fingerprint must be used to unlock the device.

Samsung has also introduced a new Personal Folder and Private Modewhere user will be able to hide apps and content that can only be accessed by a traditional password or PIN or the assigned fingerprint.

Users will also be able to sign in into websites and their Samsung accounts using the fingerprint sensor and while scanning fingerprints, the device will display an image of the fingerprint in real time on the screen.

So it's like the Iphone one, but it sucks a little bit. IMO they are trying too much to get sued.

No...it really won't. Also Samsung phones generally have more RAM anyway so there's that plus.

The new skin is supposed to be lighter. More like stock Android. So it'll take up way less space.

Even tho that's true the placement might be what Apple picks on. We've seen this before and we'll see this again.

Well Duh... It was only a matter of time. All phones should have it, pin codes and those little drawings are useless.
I have found IOS's version to be completely accurate when trying it with friends to access my phone.

Yeah, that's right... I think that there was a motorola one back in 2011, right?

But the thing here is placement, exact the same (even though it seems so natural, the place it should really be from the beginning) and the comparison is inevitable.

Signatures are stupid.

This just in: All finger print scanners are now considered "copying Apple".

I think it's hilarious, and sad that as soon as Apple does something (that is not in any way new), everyone else with similar features "copies Apple".

It's a finger print reader people... Some phones had that before the iPhone did. If anything both Samsung and Apple are copying" Motorola by having finger print readers on phones, and Motorola probably got the idea from some other company.

As much as I hate to say it, its sounds like Apples implementation is better. While you can just press the iphones home button, you have to swipe on the SGS5? I don't know, I think they could have done a better job implementing it.

Here is a list of common fallacies. Which ones have you used today?
