Ram Speed is lower than supposed to be

Go to solution Solved by Tarry Hesticle,

Go into the BIOS and enable XMP.

Hello

I recently upgraded from 8 Gb Hynix 2133Mhz to 16x2 DDR4 HyperX 2666Mhz

In BIOS they appear as 2666Mhz

In CPU-Z its detecting 1333 (I know double data rate stuff)

And in task manager ---> Performance -----> Memory it uses 2133 Mhz

I know my processor cant go above 2400mhz so why is it still using 2133 and not going to 2400Mhz? How can i make them reach 2400 ( especially that i payed alot for the ram)

My Ram are in channel B1 and B2 (recommended by asus A2 B2)

My rig is:

i5 7400 3.0Ghz boost to 3.5Ghz

32 Gb HyperX 2666Mhz

Aus Rog Z270F Strix

Zotac 1660Ti 6Gb GDDR6

480+240Gb SSD HIKVision
