Minecraft Server on ESXI

I currently have MCeternal being hosted on a VM within ESXI but cannot connect to it locally or externally. 

 

I have port forwarded the router for 25565.

 

I have also allowed the connections through both my computer firewall and the VM firewall. 

 

I have also been trying to connect to the server via external IP. 

 

Im lost at this point and have never had issues like this because all the other times were successful.

can you provide more details on your setup? specifically complete IP addressing and a diagram would be nice.

Considering you cant access it locally, it could mean an issue with your vNIC configuration/setup

Where have you forwarded your router to? The virtual machine most likely has an IP address on a separate network unless you set it up to share the host's network. I don't remember what it's called on ESXi but e.g. on VirtualBox that would be a bridged network.

I just figured out the issue right before you commented lol. 

 

My local IP changed from .12 to .14...

 

I think im gonna setup a domain or something so I dont have to pay double to my ISP for a static IP.

It shares the host network. 

 

My local IP of the server changed from .12 to .14 within a day.

 

I need to implement something that wont effect my servers so I dont have to keep giving people public IPs.

But before publishing it publicly, make sure it works locally on your network 1st

Just tested it and it works. 

 

I guess I should have checked the IP again before making a post.

Something like https://www.noip.com/ should do the trick.
