They are both great choices but the Quiet dark pro is a little quieter. I would personally do the Quiet dark pro because it isnt brown lol.

The NH D15 is offered in an all black version.

I have a D15, personally. I don't think the Dark Rock was released when I bought it. I'm a bit of a Noctua fanboy at this point though.

You won't be disappointed with either. Pick the one that's cheaper and/or you like the look of better. I believe GN did a review of them both as well if you want more info.

I like Thermalright stuff. I remember when Noctua came out and I saw their first cooler.. it reminded me of a Thermalright cooler, just not as nice 😄

I had a D14, it’s performance was ok, not as good as what I had, and it blocked 5 out of 6 dimms iirc. Sold it and haven’t looked back. If they make a D16 or something I’d probably try it out 👍🏻

While I am a bit of a fanboy, I do keep an open mind.

What about the Deepcool Assassin III?

They are all within margin of error. Dark Rock Pro 4 is bit better than D15 in thermals and noise levels. In some reviews. But mostly they are withing few degrees.

All the top coolers are within a few c of each other. Who knows your setup might be better than the reviewers and you may get better results, or you may not. It’s best to take reviews with a grain of salt. One reviewer may get good results, the other may not. Grain of salt.

I just installed an Arctic Freezer 34 eSports Duo.  I am not sure of what processor you are trying to cool, so maybe look at that cooler as well?

The DRP4 is a bit quieter and sometimes outperforms the NH-D15, but it's usually at lighter loads and not by much.

It more often performs about as well as the NH-D15S and sometimes substantially worse than the NH-D15 at higher loads.
